Ahhhhh. Stumbled across this vid while looking for music to listen to while I work. Miss this kind kanikapila. Hardly get these kinds anymore! So awesome!
I was born and raised on 3rd Road. Kanikapilla was like breathing. Jerome Koko and his Brother John Nahalea (RIP) and their sisters Tweetie and Irma was our play mates. The house they grew up in was my Auntie's house first. Bradda Moon Kaukahi was same grade as my sister. Never in a million years did I think they would get so famous. But why not? SO MUCH Talent came out of Nanakuli. SO MUCH Talent STILL in Nanakuli. Not only in Mele. I will always be connected to Nanakuli! Mahalo Nui for da Kanikapila. Malama to all. Aloha Pumehana.
Although we lived in Waiʻanae time was spent in Nānākuli Homestead visiting friends and family, such as the Kai ʻOhana. Third Road, Mano Avenue, gave us many talented musicians, such as Third Road Delight, Bother Del Beasley and of course The Mākaha Sons (Of Niʻihau). Mahalo for this wonderful video.
