@kjplethodon Thanks for the recommendations! Komi Can’t Communicate had been on my plan-to-watch list for a long time, but I never gave it a try. After your recommendation, I binged both seasons in just two days and absolutely loved it! I’ll definitely check out the other two anime you recommended soon as well. Also, a big thanks to all the elves who worked hard to make this event possible! I’m sure organizing these kinds of events must be really challenging. |

Glad that you enjoyed the gift! @Hulio Nice to hear when the anime you enjoyed - when another person liked it as well.. ;P Maybe if you'll feel for it, after finishing Happy Sugar Life, you can share in PM who was your favorite character, or what you liked / disliked the most about the anime.. ;P But hearing you calling it refreshing is already an interesting response, thank you.. ;P Thank you for gift! @mhkr Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight was nice slice of life with enjoyable characters.. ;P You mentioned you might have some anime with stoic girls? If you might, I'd like to hear it / them in PM, if you'll have time and wish to name them.. ;P No need to write recommendation as in gift, just mentioning is fine, I'm just curious for such girls if you might have anime with them.. If not, that's completely fine.. ;P Thank you all for participating in event, best wishes to all.. ;P |

Thanks a lot for this event! It was a great experience and I enjoyed taking part in it. @Kill_That_Bird thank you for the recommendations, I have already watched Patema Inverted, it was a nice evening watching it. Now I'm plannign to start watching The Ancient Magus' Bride, actually this anime I forgot about. Once I saw an edit with it and thought to watch it, but I lost the edit and didn't know the name! So I'm really grateful for5 this recommendation! And I for sure will watch the third recommendation, I heard about this title, but I have never thought about watching it, but now I know that I will do it) I hope this event will be next year too! |

@Honkai Thank you so much for the recommendation! I've actually seen the title/poster of Cross Game a few times, but for some reason or another I nver actually read the description or started watching the series. I love how cute the art style is and the pacing is quite good too! There are just so many surprising turns of event already in the few episodes I got to watch since I got your present. I'll defnitely check the other rec. out too after finishing this one! I wish you a happy new year full of anime and I hope you got equally good recommendations yourself :) I'd also love to thank all the Elves and their helpers for hosting the event. It was super fun! |

@DeadlyRaven Thank you so much for your Manga recommendations!! Your recommendation was presented so beautifully and I could tell you spent a lot of time on it, I was touched. The fact that you even recommended shorter manga, which I usually prefer, really showed how much you considered my tastes. My favourite recommendation was Onnanoko ga Shinu Hanashi. I liked the tragedy and most of the characters involved. I didn't like the ending because I thought the male lead was terrible for never moving on. Haruka was a great Person, but Chiho deserved someone who really loved her. I would have preferred if they didn't end up together so that bumped it down to a 7/10 from an 8/10 for me. Aqua is a cute slice of life story with a nice setting and charming characters. The world is intriguing and fun to explore alongside the main characters. I was surprised it ended so abruptly before I realized there is a sequel. I'll definitely read the sequel as well! I also enjoyed Kabocha no Bouken. Kabocha is absolutely adorable, and as a cat lover, the manga really hit the spot for me. It's clear the Manga was written by someone who loves cats. I truly appreciate all of your recommendations, and I can't thank you enough for the time and care you put into them. |

Great event yet again, thanks to all the elves for their hard work! As for the present - thank you, @Xiao! Your recommendations are amazing. I really liked The Horizon, it kind of hit harder cus of all the stuff happening around the world right now, too. The art and use of colours were nice, too. The ending though, the boy growing up and meeting and living with that couple, Also, I may have stalked your profile a little bit just now, it looks amazing and you have a great taste in both anime and manga. :) Thanks for the amazing present again. Hope you had fun during the holidays and that you will have an amazing 2025! |

It was my first time to participating in something like this, so I was kinda nervous, but it turned out to be a really fun experience. Thank you for this awesome event. @ByronasauresRex, thank you. I was really surprised that MAL found another Sci-fi fan (really underlooked anime genre in my opinion), and you spent so much time to compose your message and select three recommendations that I could possibly enjoy. About Dedede... yeah, it's unironically a work of art, but, sadly, I've already read the manga two years ago and gave it 10/10 (it's in my favorites list, but maybe I should have mentioned it in my request, sorry), so it wasn't so much interest for me in watching this story again in anime form (just episode 0 to check how it looks like). So I chose Vivy. It's not perfect in my opinion (especially the last three episodes were really disappointing imo), but both animation and directing (especially directing) are top notch, so I absolutely don't regret it. Summertime Rendering looks like something enjoyable too, so I'll probably give it a try soon. Happy New Year! |

@UnlimitedNacho Thank you so much for your Anime recommendations! I was a bit busy so I could only start two of your recommendations. I will start watching Plastic Memories soon. I watched the first few episode of To Your Enternity and really enjoyed them. I will definitely continue to watch it! I only had time for the first episode of Tamako Marktet, but it seemed like something I'd enjoy. Thank you for telling me it is the prequel to Tamako Love Story or I would have watched the Movie first haha. |

My first time partaking in this event and thank you all for this fun event!!! @Nostale thank you for your anime recommendations! I've already finished one and started on another. I finished Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid and it was surprsingly entertaining and definitely going into the guilty pleasure category lol. I was honestly hoping for more by the end, it felt like it left a lot of questions. I've started on Cross Ange. I figured I would leave Ascendance of a Bookworm to last as it is both the longer one as well I am more interested in it and wanted to savour it. @Sagepool thank you for your manga recommendation! I have read a few chapters of Yu Yu Hakusho, and I have been enjoying it so far! Not much to say for it as I am only a few chapters in, hoping to be a lot more in over the next few days. |

@Left_hook thank you for being my Secret Santa and for putting so much thought into your recommendations. I watched Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi and really enjoyed it! As for the other two, I’m excited to check them out since they both have such high ratings and are new discoveries for me. I really appreciate the time and effort you spent finding animes that match my preferences. Thanks to you, I now have two more promising series to look forward to, and that’s an amazing gift in itself. Thank you so much! For the elves; Thank you so much for all your hard work on the Secret Santa event. I know it must have taken a lot of time and effort to pair everyone and send out messages to so many people. Thanks to you, I got to discover new animes and had a great experience being part of this event. I really appreciate everything you did to make it happen. Thank you for making it so special for all of us! |

A big thank you to all the elves for organizing this! It was really enjoyable; this is my first year participating but I am already looking forward to the next time this happens. @nati48 Thanks for writing me 3 great recommendations! I can tell that you care a lot about each show. I've been obsessed with KonoSuba lately so I haven't gotten around to watching all of them yet; so far, I've only gotten around to Oshi no Ko. I definitely plan to watch them all though. Oshi no Ko's first episode left a very strong impression on me: so many different subplots were set up in the span of ≈90 minutes, and there are so many directions for further development. Aka Akasaka is really doing whatever it is he does. That knife scene sold the psychological aspects of the show for me. Dr. Stone seems to have an original plot for sure: I don't think I've seen an anime around civilization-building before, which this anime seems to be about. Thanks for the heads up about the show's slow start: if the show is as great as you say, you've saved me from dismissing a great show. I'll keep it in mind when I check this show out in the future. Fire Force also seems really great. I'm curious about this fire-based power system: how exactly does a writer give fire-based powers to an entire shōnen cast? Anyways, it sounds like a cool concept. Also, you mentioned that the plot of the series is great, which I would agree with after seeing the synopsis. Fire Force definitely seems more complex than the average battle shōnen. Thanks again for the 3 detailed recommendations you gave me. Hope you have a good 2025 :D |

@HijnZ11 Thank you for the anime recs! I finished and had a lot of fun with Edomae Elf, I loved both the amazing OP song and the comfy vibes from the show as a whole. I also appreciate the triple blonde women recs - haven't gotten to the other two yet but definitely excited to check them out. Wataten is definitely one I'm sure that I'll love. Oshibudou, funnily enough, I've watched a bit of the live action of for some reason. Looking forward to seeing the actual anime as well, probably after Wataten. Thank you again for the recs, hope you have a great 2025! @Bardwyne Thank you for the manga recs! I caught up to Okiku-san and enjoyed it a lot, will be excitedly waiting for its future updates. I've started working on Kaguhara's Feti Note as well and love its uniqueness as well as the animated expressions. Slowly but surely I'm also indeed finally reading Yagakimi - genuinely unsure why I've forgotten to read that all this time, but this was a great reminder to finally actually put it in my bookshelf. Overall I appreciate the great taste in yuri, fellow comrade. Thank you again for the recs, hope you have a great 2025! |

@Avengerlight @LordJamp Not too sure how it was formatted because I had two people under the section that shows who gave me it, one saying (Elf). Either way, thanks for the gift! I’ve been on such a slump in the recent years and haven’t watched too many shows, this was a great one since I could just watch a couple, being shorter episodes. Each one was super eery and honestly I just really enjoyed it. I didn’t have the highest expectations because of the low MAL rating, but it definitely deserves higher for being so unique. I finished the first season and noticed there was a ton more lmao, gotta get back on the grind and watch that now! |

@Vardaruus Thanks for the suggestion, Var. I picked Planetes since it's much shorter than Space Brothers and I watched the first three episodes, and it really love it. I love the adult slice-of-life stories since it really hit a cord on me and I recently reading Smoking Behind the Supermarket, another adult slice-of-life. Unfortunately, haven't finished the series yet but if I have the time, I'm going to binge watch it all. |

@Brimmy21 Hey! Thanks for the recommendations!! I starting watching Gravitation and I am enjoying it so far so thank you!! it's exactly what I was asking for so I appreciate that you went to the effort of searching for the right fit for me. Also I have seen Banana Fish btw lol. I've only seen like 5/6 eps tho which is why its not on my list since I only add to my list when I've completed something. Oh and I have actually already seen both Junjou romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and really enjoyed them so I was really happy when you said Gravatation was similar to them! Thanks for all the anime gifts @Gui_silva23! Out of the 3, MyGo is the one I find the most interesting. I remember it was very well received when it came out. I'll watch the original Bang Dream first (tomorrow), 'cuz it's a self-imposed rule of mine to watch the parent series first lol. The next one will be Yorukura. I wasn't really interested of it before, but thanks to your enthusiastic suggestion (^v^). I'll be watching it around this early summer. Last, but also looks great is Girls Band Cry, which I'll save for later this year. As you can see, there's pretty big time intervals inbetween them. That's because I consume diverse genre almost all the time; like I can't stand to watch another romance anime just after finishing one xD. Regardless, I'll make sure to watch 'em all! Also thanks for the gift manga @KohiChilly!. I'm also super glad House of the Sun is a finished manga. I've honestly never seen or heard about it before (which is weird). That's why it's awesome you presented it, and in a compelling way as well (^v^). I've been really into shoujo demographic lately, and enjoying it a lot. I'm sorry I missed it last holiday season, but I'll be reading it very soon! |

I am so glad that I was able to participate in this event this year! @ParaSwordFish thank you so much for the gift, I really loved watching Library Wars. it is exactly what I was looking for, but honestly when I first started watching it I had my expectations set on low. Yet here I am now loool I don't know if you noticed or not but Shibasaki is voice by my favourite voice actress, Sawashiro Miyuki and that alone made me invested even more, Shibasaki is obviously my favourite from the show. Although I have some critisim for it, I rated Library Wars a 9, I think it deserves it very much so thank you again for the amazing recommendation! as for boarding school, I tried watching that a few years ago but as far as I remember I didn't really like it back then, but who knows maybe if I give it a second try I am going to love it this time (╹ڡ╹ ) Glad you were my secret santa this year! happy anime watching for now :D |

Thank you elves for running the event again this year! @GDjkhp Thank you for the recommendations. Nice to see a fellow programmer on here, though I'm usually slacking off watching anime or youtube. I completed 2 of the recommendations you sent me. I thought Mahoujin Guruguru was pretty good. I was suprised by the low amount of usercount, I don't think I would've ever found this one on my own. Even though you mentioned it in the gift, It took me 8 episodes to figure out I was watching a remake (I really can't read huh). I think the jokes hold up pretty well and the magic is pretty unique. I liked the music of ED1 a lot so I added it to my liked list on spotify. It will eventually make its way onto my ipod next to music of completely different genres. Summer Wars was also a fun watch. The synopsis didn't really make me that interested but the movie was actually great. I found it interesting that they didn't all have some futuristic VR setup but instead access OZ through normal devices. though it does look kinda silly using a flip phone to play OZ. The IRL part was the most interesting to me, though it also had a bigger part in the movie than the OZ virtual world. Watching this movie kinda made me realise I've not really seen that many anime movies yet. I haven't watched Urusei Yatsura yet. mostly cause its 2 x 23 episodes long. I think I might watch it in the summer vacation if not sooner. I do think the art style at least looks very nice. |
